Putting my hands on real money by Tony Winston

Full Name: Tony Winston
Country Represented: Kenya

Why did you enter this storytelling contest?

Naturally i am a conversationist. I have been a lover of stories from my early school years. Surprisingly my first ever earned money was through a national essay competition.

When I saw the ultimate storyteller contest, it looked familiar. No. To me, it had a smell. It smelt of my kind of staple meal. The brain cells told me “Hey Tony, let’s go, we’ve done this before”

What does storytelling mean to you?

Story telling is the future of marketing.

As a brand enthusiast keen to help brands turn around their fortunes, to me, storytelling is a trade. An income-generating hobby. Do you know what it means to do what you love for a lifestyle? It means happiness.

I want to hone this skill. I want to own it. I want to get it as natural as breathing.

Why did you tell this story?

This story has a going concern. It has become so much of me because it taught me the power of Money. It taught me Influence. It taught me daring. It told me hello young guy, you can step into the dark and still find your bearing. And at the ultimate, that story taught me expression. And the expression is the only way to give yourself to the world.
